Update 1.1 - Rev B Fixes & Added Polish

Hello again!! It's update time!

It was reported that the intro scene, as well as the boss fight, were running VERY poorly. I am incredibly sorry about this, and I tried to get this fixed as quickly as I could. The issue? A big sprite in the intro was being rotated 90 degrees (I'll admit this was very lazy coding on my end), which was being affected by a performance bug exclusive to Rev B Playdates (if you've gotten your Playdate recently, then you were affected by this).

The good news is that the issue is resolved now! Intro should run buttery smooth again! Again, I am really sorry about this.

On the brighter side, I was also able to add a bunch of polish to the game! I didn't keep the best track of what changes I made, but I'll try my hardest to list them all!

- Added a pause menu image! This will show how many days you've played, as well as the current weather condition & time. (It will also dynamically change visuals based on the weather!)

- Fixed a massive performance issue for Rev B devices in the intro segment

- Revamped the reef wall sprite.

- Added another layer to all zone walls to add some extra pretty-ness.

- Made some map markers move around a bit, to help liven things up!

- Added a "NEW" icon that appears above your home when you collected a new treasure. This is to help make it more clear that treasure is visible in your house.

- Redid the Table of Contents page in the Fincyclopedia to make it look nicer.

- Boats now come with their own custom themed paddles!

- Intro can now be replayed by inputting the following code on the main menu (Up Down Up Down Up Up Up)

- Tweaked shop navigation to prevent accidental double-scrolls.

- Fixed a bug where the book image would hang out for longer than it should have when closing the Fincyclopedia.

- Fixed a bug where the page numbers in the Table of Contents were incorrect.

- Lowered the volume of the slide whistle and cow can tackles (To prevent it from sounding bad on speakers).

Hello ! One of the first times I played, I found a hotspot in the map, where an icon told me there was a lot of fish. Since then (it's been a while), nothing ever happened again on the map, that is empty all the time. Is it normal ? Should I just go to random spots ? Cheers !

Hello!! Hotspots should refresh every in-game day (around sunrise). Once you've fished at one, it'll disappear and you'll have to fish around at any spot on the water.

As much as I enjoy the game, I feel like it's going to be long to get the 4000$ needed for a new boat when my best fishing sessions get me ~150$... But you're going to tell me that I'm just bad ? ๐Ÿ˜…

Is it possible that hotspots don't refresh though ? ๐Ÿคจ

It's possible I guess! They definitely aren't needed to get through the game though, so no worries.

Also assuming you're in The Reef, $150 is pretty good!! Try saving up for the next fishing line upgrade first. You'll find that it helps a ton with catching better fish ๐Ÿ‘€

I thank you for this advice ! I didn't feel like it was urgent to buy it, as I don't reach the limit of my current line. But I'll grind to 1500 and see how it changes things :)

Can't wait for the post catalog update, thanks again for this terrific game !

I just got my Playdate a few days ago and bought this the other day! Do I need to sideload the new file manually, or will it update through the console Settings menu?

You will need to sideload the file again, but your Playdate will recognize that there is an update!
